Political life

The law of 23 August 2023 on intercultural living-together provides for the creation in every municipality of an “advisory committee whose remit includes the intercultural living-together of all people living and working in the municipality”. Article 9 of the Law defines the missions of the Commission for Intercultural Living Together.
The Commission for Intercultural Living Together promotes understanding and respect for all cultures and languages, regardless of origin. Our mission is to foster coexistence within the community, including long term residents, newcomers, and cross-border commuters, while actively combating all forms of discrimination, racism, and prejudice.
We organize a range of projects designed to exchange ideas, share cultures, and build relationships.
Our current focus is on implementing the “Gemengepakt”. This initiative involves close collaboration between the commune, SYVICOL, and the Ministry of Family Affairs, Solidarity, Living Together and Reception of Refugees. It aims to create a dynamic, multi-year process that prioritizes effective communication, access to information, and active participation for everyone living or working in commune.
